The Positions page
Open it from Positions on any Trade live row, or go to/trading/reconcile.
It answers one question: does what my broker holds match what each live strategy
believes it holds?
Each row is one strategy: its name, its symbol, what the strategy believes, what
the broker actually holds for it, and one action. Rows are grouped under a
header per symbol, which shows the account’s net position in that
instrument — see
several strategies on one symbol for how
that header splits.
The Positions page stays available even when auto-trading is switched off for
your account. This is where you come to see and kill an open position, so it is
never hidden from you.
The verdict on each row
Some mismatches are transient and expected: a resting entry that hasn’t filled
yet shows a difference against the strategy (which already believes the trade),
and an order the broker hasn’t acknowledged yet shows as in flight. Both clear on
the next read.
The action column
The action on a row is its status. You never get a dead button.Fix
Fix
Bounded repairs only. Fix may re-place a missing stop or target, resize an
exit to the position actually held, cancel an order of Live trading’s own that is no
longer wanted, and re-place a missing entry order. It never opens, reverses
or enlarges a position. You can fix one strategy, every strategy on a symbol (Fix ES), or
everything (Fix all). Anything Fix may not touch is listed on the row with
the reason — never silently dropped — next to the control that is the
remedy.Read the result literally: applied means the broker acknowledged every order
the repair sent; anything refused or rejected is reported as skipped, with why.
Match strategy
Match strategy
The one action here that adds exposure, which is why it is its own button
and never folded into Fix. It places a single market order — with the
strategy’s own stop and target riding on it — so the strategy’s belief and
your real position agree again, and Live trading follows the strategy from there.Where it is withheld, the ”!” in its place carries Live trading’s own reason: the
strategy is flat, its belief is stale, orders are still in flight, an account
question is open, or a
slippage budget
is set.
Skip this trade
Skip this trade
The mirror of Match strategy, and the answer to a gap no repair can close:
decline the trade. Nothing is bought or sold — any entry still working for
it is cancelled — and Live trading starts following the strategy again from its next
flat.A skipped row reads as a good state, with a check rather than a ”!”: it is
detached because you asked for it. The exception is a skip whose cancel lost
the race to a fill — you really do hold something then, and the row says so.
"!"
"!"
Something needs your attention that neither a repair nor Match strategy can
settle. Open it: you get the reasons in Live trading’s own words, and the kill
switches that are the actual remedy.
The run view
Run on any Trade live row opens one strategy in full:- State and any overlay (signal feed stale, trade skipped, detached).
- Position — what the strategy believes, side by side with what Live trading holds at the broker. The broker column is labelled Broker (OMS).
- The account’s position — shown when the account holds more than this one strategy. See several strategies on one symbol.
- Working orders — role, side, type, quantity, price, status, and whether you now own that order because you modified it by hand.
- Fills — with each fill’s slippage in ticks against the price the signal was generated at.
- Divergences — every recorded difference: when, its cause, and what Live trading did about it.
- The journal — the ordered record of everything that happened to this strategy and why.
The states
Plus one overlay: signal feed stale — no signal for three minutes during the
session. It clears on its own when signals resume.
Why a strategy detached
The controls
Pause, Cancel entries, Flatten now and Skip this trade only ever
reduce exposure, so they stay available even if auto-trading is switched off for
your account. Resume and Match strategy do not.
